Today’s first reading (Genesis 8:1-15) begins with a simple but generous act of hospitality by Abraham. It ends with a prophecy of great blessing (that his wife Sarah thinks unbelievable).

Hospitality seems less and less a concern for many of us in today’s busy world.

May we remember the blessings of the simple, old fashioned virtue of hospitality.
