Prudence and...

In today’s Gospel (Mt. 10:7-15), our Lord tells the disciples to carry nothing within them on their missionary journey - not even an extra set of clothes – nothing but the message he has entrusted to them.

Prudence is a virtue and practical considerations are important, but they must never distract us from the mission given to us by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

It is therefore good for us, as individual believers and as communities of faith, as we go through the various things we do, to keep asking ourselves the question: are we being prudent or are we being distracted?
