Work to remember
Sometimes we remember the wrong things and forget the good things.
Today’s first reading (Deuteronomy 4:1, 5-9) reminds us to work hard at remembering the works and the law of God: keeping them fresh in our minds and teaching them to others, especially to the younger generations.
Take care
and be earnestly on your guard
not to forget the things
which your own eyes have seen,
nor let them slip from your memory
as long as you live,
but teach them to your children
and to your children’s children.
