At the words of Peter

People can have many different reactions to preaching.

In today’s first reading (Acts 11:1-8), Saint Peter tells of a very powerful reaction to his words.

As I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell upon them...

It is a reminder that whenever you and I share our faith with others, we should always be praying for the Holy Spirit to touch the hearts of those around us and draw them to faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

It is also a reminder that as the Successor of Saint Peter visits the United States this week, we should pray that al who see and hear him may experience an outpouring of the Holy Spirit and new life in Christ.
