Give thanks and do something
People in the United States tomorrow celebrate Thanksgiving Day: a national holiday for giving thanks to God for the good things that have been entrusted to us.
In today’s Gospel (Luke 19:11-28), our Lord tells us the familiar parable of the King who punished a servant for not putting to use what had been entrusted to him.
This is a clear reminder that as we give thanks for the gifts we receive from God, we should also resolve to do as much as we can to put them to good use: for the good of others and the greater glory of God.
