Stick to it

In today's Gospel (Luke 1:57-66), a old man and an old woman stick to what they have heard from the Lord, even as all their friends and neighbors try to talk them out of it.

As we have looked ahead to Christmas
(now just two days away),
perhaps the thought has come to us
that we could make this Christmas
a very special one:
perhaps a turning point,
for us to really immerse ourselves
in what we celebrate this day
and to live that mystery from that day on
in a full way, each and every day
- profoundly and joyfully.

A good thought.
