And a little child shall lead them
I was thinking a good deal about today's readings (Isaiah 11:1-10 and Luke 10:21-24) and then I realized I was missing the point.
In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit,
and said,
I thank thee, O Father,
Lord of heaven and earth,
that thou hast hid these things
from the wise and prudent,
and hast revealed them unto babes:
even so, Father;
for so it seemed good in thy sight.
Sometimes, especially when it comes to our prayer life, we can "over-think" things instead of just opening our minds and our hearts to the loving grace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who can put our inner confusions and conflicts to rest and let us luxuriate in the peace that surpasses all understanding.
The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb,
and the leopard shall lie down with the kid;
and the calf and the young lion
and the fatling together;
and a little child shall lead them.
