Fish again
In today's Gospel (Luke 5:1-11), we hear the familiar account of the miraculous catch of fish.
The words of St. Peter seem particularly relevant today.
"Master, we have worked hard all night
and have caught nothing,
but at your command I will lower the nets."
Trying to fulfill the Lord's command to teach all nations, we may sometimes feel frustrated and discouraged as we labor in a darkening world where fewer seem to be accepting the message of truth.
But Christ tells us to put our nets out once more, to proclaim his truth even where it has already been proclaimed and rejected, and to trust in the power of his grace.
