Reminder
Most of the time when we try to share or explain the faith, we are not telling people something totally new or that they have not heard before.
Most of the time, such as in today's first reading (1 Corinthians 15:1-8), we are really just reminding people what they already knew.
Now I am reminding you, brothers,
of the gospel I preached to you,
which you indeed received
and in which you also stand.
Through it you are also being saved...
It is not a redundant effort, however.
All of us need reminders of the wonderful truth and salvation that has been given to us through our Lord Jesus Christ.
So many events and changes flow through our lives - so many words, so many images, so many thoughts, so many feelings - that it is always good to draw our attention back to what is truly important.
For I handed on to you as of first importance
what I also received:
that Christ died for our sins
in accordance with the Scriptures....
But now Christ has been raised from the dead,
the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.
May we always remind one another of the saving truth of God.
