Look like an angel

Some of us are blessed to spend most of our time during the week with good people who do good things and who are always happy to be with us.

Some of us spend our workweek in places where people glower at us like the Sanhedrin in today's first reading (Acts 6:8-15).

Our response should be like that of Stephen, whose face "was like the face of an angel."

How can we have "the face of an angel"? Not by using some product like Mennen Skin Bracer or La Prairie Cellular Radiance Cream.

What the Sanhedrin saw in Stephen’s face was nothing that could come out of a bottle, a jar, or even good genes.

What the Sanhedrin saw was the pure, grace-filled love of God shining in his face.

That is what needs to be shining in our faces.

How can we get that look? Simply by good washing and daily care: that is to say, by bathing constantly in the grace and the spirit of God and by keeping focused on the radiance of his love

As we begin this new week - whether we are surrounded by friends, enemies, or human ciphers - we need to shine with the pure grace and love of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

We should look like angels.
