The secret of endless love

Today’s first reading (Acts 15:7-21) and the Gospels of today and tomorrow (John 15:9-11 and 12-17) give us the secret of endless love.

  • The secret of endless love is fidelity to God in thought, word, and deed.

    “If you keep my commandments,
you will remain in my love,
just as I have kept my Father's commandments
    and remain in his love.”

  • The secret of endless love is self-sacrifice.

    “This is my commandment:
love one another as I love you.
No one has greater love than this,
to lay down one's life for one's friends.”

  • The secret of endless love is God’s free gift of grace.

“…We are saved through the grace of the Lord Jesus…”

Jesus said to his disciples:

"As the Father loves me,
so I also love you.

"Remain in my love….

"I have told you this
so that my joy might be in you
and your joy might be complete."
