The impact of the resurrection
The readings after Easter do more than just tell of the resurrected Christ: they also tell us of how the resurrected Christ affected those who saw him. Both of today’s readings (Acts 4:1-12 & Jn. 21:1-14) thus feature the post-Easter St. Peter.
No longer does he answer challenges with denial and evasion: he launches into thunderous proclamations of Christ’s resurrection. When others merely talk about Christ (“It is the Lord”), Peter literally leaps into action.
How does Christ affect us? Are we bold for Christ? Do we leap for Christ?
Strengthen me, O Lord.

Alleluia!
