The Jews
Our Gospel readings this week have been from the Gospel of John, which has pretty much used one term to identify the enemies of our Lord:

This may be very disturbing to some. Anti-Semites have falsely and too often used passages such as these as “cover” for committing all manner of evil against those who practice the Jewish faith.
The fallacy of this perversion of the Gospel is reinforced in today’s Gospel (from John 7) where our Lord is shown to be a practicing Jew, together with nearly everyone else around him: his relatives, the people listening to him, et al.
So, come Judgment Day, anti-Semites are going to have a terrible surprise when they see who’s sitting on the Throne:
