Priest critical after hit-and-run (UPDATED)

Karen Marie Knapp in her blog From the Anchor Hold asks prayers for a priest from her area who was critically injured Sunday night when a car struck him as he was unloading groceries.

Father Eleazar Perez, 45, is Administrator of St. Adalbert Catholic Church on Milwaukee's south side. His leg may require amputation. (Three suspects are in custody.)

UPDATE - Father Perez' leg was amputated above the knee. As of Wednesday the 12th he was reported as being in "stable condition" and "in good spirits."
