A new shepherd for scattered sheep

This morning the Holy Father named Fr. Joseph Konnath, head of the Mar Theophilos Teacher Training College, as Auxiliary Bishop of the Archeparchy (Archdiocese) of Trivandrum, India of the Syro-Malankarese Rite (according to tradition, established by St. Thomas the Apostle).

The Holy Father also named him Apostolic Visitor with responsibility for the Syro-Malankarese faithful throughout Europe and North America.
