Feast of the Transfiguration

Jesus took Peter, John and James and went up on a mountain to pray.

And as he prayed, the appearance of his face was altered, and his clothing was white and dazzling.

And, behold, there with him were two men: Moses and Elijah, appearing in glory and speaking of his departure which he should accomplish at Jerusalem.

But Peter and those who were with him were heavy with sleep and when they awoke, they saw his glory and the two men that stood with him. As the men were leaving from him, Peter said to Jesus, "Master, it is good for us to be here. Let us make three booths: one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah." (He did not know what he said.)

While he was speaking, a cloud came and overshadowed them, and they were afraid as they entered into the cloud.

And there came a voice out of the cloud, saying,

This is my beloved Son:
hear him.
