The building of the Ark
For some, these are days of panic.
Some are oblivious. Some endlessly fret.
And some (metaphorically speaking) are building an ark: seeking to survive absolute destruction.
There may be comfort in these words from today’s second reading (1 Peter 3:18-22):
God patiently waited in the days of Noah
during the building of the ark...
Yet it was not the ark itself that saved Noah: it was the grace of God.
Likewise in our own lives, as we fear disaster or see it close at hand, we should certainly take every prudent action we can, but it is critical that we always seek the grace and wisdom of God above all things.
