Ukrainian US Bishops

The Holy Father has appointed as the new Bishop of Stamford of the Ukrainians (USA) Bishop Paul Patrick Chomnycky, O.S.B.M., who had been Apostolic Exarch for the Ukrainian faithful of Byzantine Rite residing in Great Britain (the Holy Father having accepted the retirement of the current bishop Basil Harry Losten).

The Holy Father has also appointed Msgr. John Bura as Auxiliary Bishop of the Archeparchy of Philadelphia of the Ukrainians. The German-born bishop-elect has been pastor of Saint Nicholas parish in Wilmington since 2001.
