Ubi caritas

Horrific disasters struck different parts of the world in the past week. An earthquake centered in Pakistan has killed tens of thousands of people. A hurricane killed hundreds if not thousands in Guatemala, southern Mexico, and neighboring countries.

In both of these disasters, Catholic Relief Services (CRS) was among the first non-governmental relief agencies on the ground, working with local affiliates of Caritas Internationalis.

CRS also works to help people who suffer even after the media spotlight moves on, most notably in Darfur.
