The world is full of scoundrels

There are wicked people all around us.

And sometimes we don’t feel terribly virtuous ourselves.

In today’s first reading (Is. 55:6-9), the Lord extends his hand to us and offers us hope.

Let the scoundrel forsake his way,
and the wicked his thoughts;
let him turn to the LORD for mercy;
to our God, who is generous in forgiving.

The Lord extends his hand to us. Now is the opportunity.

May the Lord give us the grace to take it without delay.

Seek the LORD while he may be found,
call him while he is near.
