Burn, baby, burn
In today’s first reading (from Exodus 3), we have the familiar image of the burning bush.
Moses… came to Horeb, the mountain of God.
There an angel of the LORD appeared to him in fire
flaming out of a bush.
As he looked on,
he was surprised to see that the bush,
though on fire, was not consumed.
Sometimes you and I may feel tired, worn out, or otherwise not strongly motivated – even when we have important and godly things to do.
We should pray to become like burning bushes ourselves: filled by the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ with the fiery fervor and love of God that never ends.
