Rescuing the Sacrament

The Cathedral of St. Raphael in Madison, Wisconsin, was destroyed by fire on Monday.

The Wisconsin State Journal reports that the Bishop of Madison, the Most Rev. Robert Morlino, was moved by firefighters' rescue of ciboria containing the Blessed Sacrament.

"'The firefighters had to cut their way through,' Morlino said. 'They went in there and brought it out with great reverence. . . . In a symbolic way, that illustrates the caring of Madison.'"
