Lebanon

Out of today's first reading leap names that are very much in the news these days: Syria and Lebanon.

Assyria will not save us...

He shall strike root like the Lebanon cedar....
and his fragrance like the Lebanon cedar....
and his fame shall be like the wine of Lebanon.

We should pray for the people of Lebanon (and Syria), that they may soon enjoy true freedom.
