Feeling low

In today’s first reading Isaiah prophesies, “Fear not, O worm Jacob, O maggot Israel; I will help you, says the LORD.”

Even when we feel as low and miserable as worms and maggots
(and we all have our low moments),
God is there,
telling us not to be afraid:
he is with us,
he will help us,
and we will rejoice in him.
